Travel Impressions Best of the Best

Did you miss me last week? I was quiet on all fronts, right? Well, we were in Cancun (Playa Mujeres and Riviera Maya) enjoying and taking part in the Travel Impressions, Best of the Best awards. It was our first time as honorees, and it was absolutely amazing! Thank you again Travel Impressions for hosting such a lovely event!

There is so much to say about the destination, the resorts, what we did…I just almost don’t know where to start. Well, I guess at the beginning. Mike and I were fortunate enough to go 3 days early and spend that time at Excellence Playa Mujeres. What a wonderful property. Very romantic, lovely dining options, the beach is quite nice (though it is grassy, so there is seaweed, but really after you get in, you don’t even notice it) and the pools are fabulous. Just a huge shout out to Carlos at Excellence for letting us stay there and enjoy that relaxing down time.

While there, I went over the Beloved Hotel nextdoor, it was also lovely, smaller, boutique and for everyone, not just adults. That was nice to see and I was already confident in selling the property, but now….wow! Then we decided we were 18 again, and we went parasailing, rode a jet ski (and neither of us has ever done either)….what a fun and exciting experience. I am trying to get the photos on our FB page…be sure to like Magic Happens Travel & Cruises and hopefully they will be posted soon!

Then we left and went to Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya and to the event hotel, Paradisus La Perla. This resort is a very large resort that sits side by side with Paradisus La Esmeralda, which is for families….La Perla is for adults. That was a new experience for me, having the mix….not sure it’s my cup of tea, but the resort is lovely..our room was very nice, and it too was a lovely experience. You do have to have reservations for dinner at most of the restaurants, and they have to be made when you arrive…so that meant 2 nights of buffet dining for us. The meals were good, but we were in with families…so, it was an experience. The beach there is rather small, but very calm.

At this property, we were fortunate enough to be hosted for a Swim with the Dolphins experience…another one we had never had. That was incredible. I have always loved dolphins, those of us being raised in the early 60s…we all watched and love “Flipper”…..and it was so much more of an experience than I could have dreamed of. Again, hopefully I can post the photos to our page!

Along with fun in the sun, I was also so fortunate to meet wonderful agents, make great contacts, meet vendors, sales managers, upper management at Travel Impressions…..the list goes on and on. This is very important, because now I have contacts at those resorts (there were over 20 there) and will be able to let them know when clients are traveling and to ask them to take special care! We also were treated to some wonderful presentations from various markets….Wendy Wu Tours for China, the Villa Experience with Travel Impressions….Social Media…just so much that I think I need a week to digest it and put it to use.

But, the most important thing….we at Magic Happens pride ourselves in providing great service, and to do so we have to constantly learn, grow and make these contacts. So again, thank you Travel Impressions for giving me that opportunity. It was very clear that it was an award for us, and time for us to enjoy, but you really cannot imagine what I feel I brought back with me in terms of my personal and professional growth!

Thanks for listening to me go on and on….I would love to help you plan a trip that would bring you back with as much enthusiasm and I have right now!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I feel that I personally have so much to be thankful for. Many are struggling at this time, many will not be with family and friends, some are away serving this great country…just take a few minutes to realize what all you really have to be thankful for and enjoy!
