We are a full service boutique travel agency conveniently located off I-40,
one stop from RDU airport. We are less than a mile off of Harrison Avenue and I-40.
We have been in business since 1997 and specialize in leisure travel, specifically honeymoons and vacations.
We pride ourselves in being able to provide great service, without a fee to you – as our fees are paid for by the tour operators as well as the cruise lines we use.
Meet the members of the Magic Happens Team...
Michael Weil
Is the owner of Magic Happens Travel & Cruises. He purchased the agency twelve years ago and has directed the agency towards specializing in leisure travel – basically any type of travel that is geared toward fun. Whether it is cruises or land vacations, his staff takes a great deal of pride in going the extra mile and giving outstanding service to our clients.
Prior to owning this agency he was in the hotel industry for 25 years. Having worked in numerous management positions with Marriott Hotels & Resorts for 20 years, as well as some independent companies, he moved to Chapel Hill in 1996 as the General Manager of the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill. In 1997 he took the helm of Magic Happens Travel.
He has traveled extensively, cruised over 20 times and enjoys putting together groups, large or small with an emphasis on family reunions.
Debbie Kaiser
She has been with MHT&C for almost 10 years and has been in the travel business for almost 25 years. She has worked in all aspects of the business, from agent to management, worked as group coordinator, worked on the tour operator end, and has found her niche in honeymoon travel.
Her specialty is tropical destinations. She is a Certified Sandals Specialist, Platinum level meaning she has sold over 250 Sandals/Beaches vacations. She is also a Mexico Specialist through the Mexico Department of Tourism.
Marcie Crater
Marcie has been a travel agent for over 13 years, with 10 of them with MHT&C. She does a little bit of everything. She is a Certified Sandals Specialist (at the Gold Level), knows Disney quite well and has cruised a number of times. She is a key member of our office as she plays a significant role in helping the office with our numerous groups.
Phyllis Calechman
She has been in the travel industry for 24 years, first in Connecticut and the last 10 years in RaleighNorth Carolina. She has always specialized in leisure travel and has many destination specialist credentials. She has traveled the world and enjoys planning trips to Europe, more specifically Italy where she has been many times.
In recent years, she has traveled to Prague, Budapest, Vienna, the Canadian Rockies,
Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.
